In a move to take a more coordinated approach to tackling urgent and long term threats to the UK’s national security, the Home Office has formed the Joint Security and Resilience Centre (JSaRC). For the first time, experts from across industry, government and academia will work in a new and flexible way as part of a four year programme with funding from the Home Office.
JSaRC will provide a single route of access for industry into the complex security machinery of government. The new centre is to serve as government’s primary means of sharing strategic priorities and coordinating industry support. JSaRC will ensure greater oversight and understanding of the capabilities available throughout industry, and is being developed to enhance growth opportunities for security companies.
